And then an artistic show with projections of photographic images and videomapping with artistic lighting of Piazza Pretoria, under the artistic direction of Lucio Tambuzzo, a project curated by Giacomo Accardi to inaugurate Saturday, November 3, at Palazzo Bonocore, in Palermo, at 7 pm (opening to the public), the great exhibition dedicated to Modigliani which includes two of the most beautiful works by the Tuscan artist (Jeanne and Hannalore), never exhibited in Palermo, and those of his friends, as well as “Modigliani Experience, Les Femmes”, conceived by Amedeo Modigliani Institute, which carries on a great work of international popularization of the artist, and organized by the company Navigare srl , in preparation for the celebrations of the centenary of the death of the great artist from Livorno (1920-2020).
An event in the event, which is part of the events of Palermo Capital of Culture 2018, for a significant and informative exhibition on the life of Amedeo Modigliani in Paris, as well as on some of his most important friends. An extraordinary exhibition dedicated to painters of great renown and international prominence who, in different occasions and circumstances, have intertwined relationships and friendship with the Italian artist, sharing not only the passion for painting but also life experiences. Works of rare beauty will intertwine with images and historical photos of Amedeo Modigliani’s life in the early 1900s.
The multimedia exhibition presents about fifty works in which the universe and the female imagination of Amedeo Modigliani are reproduced, so important for her personal and artistic training. The exhibition presents multimedia contents developed thanks to the help of modern technologies: a docu-video created by Sky Arte, animations and other multimedia contents enrich the exhibition making the event an exceptional moment of cultural promotion and dissemination of Amedeo Modigliani’s art.
The exhibition “Les Femmes Modigliani Experience” retraces the highlights of Amedeo Modigliani’s life by describing it through the portraits of her inspiring muses, including Jeanne Hébuterne, with whom the artist establishes an overwhelming and tormenting relationship, as well as extremely creative. A story that will end tragically, with the death of both one day apart from each other. Presenting the main works dedicated to feminine beauty and its inscrutable depth, this multimedia exhibition opens its doors to the knowledge of the prestigious artistic evolution of Modigliani, in the heart of the emerging Parisian modernist outbreak.
The works, of which the Institute owns the rights of use, are digitally reproduced to the highest definition with the absolute respect of the dimensions and colors of the original. Historically, the exhibition enriches and contextualizes the exhibition with over 90 photos and period documents, often unpublished, relating to the life of the great Italian artist. A technological set of videos, videos, animations in compositing and apps, finally makes the exhibition an extraordinary event of communication and cultural dissemination, reaching the general public with the new methods of experiential fruition applied to cultural heritage.
The two exhibitions, which merge into one fantastic event, allow us to perceive a sort of story of an extraordinary historical period, like the Europe of the early 1900s, where art, great discoveries, the economy, the comparisons between painting, music and literature have radically influenced our imagination, determining symbols and indissoluble references in our conscience: just like the work of Amedeo Modigliani.
