Che Vucciria, the market from piazza San Domenico to Garraffello between art and music
The Che Vucciria! Event will be held on Friday, June 21st, proposed by the two new craft shops that have bet on Vucciria, Gharraf and La bottega del genio, and promoted by the Committee of Vucciria, the Alab Palermo association and Salvare Palermo Fondazione Onlus.
The event will begin at 5.00 pm with the Alab artisans exhibiting along the Market, from Piazza San Domenico to Piazza Garraffello and which will also give rise to an impromptu painting. Also at 17.00 the association “Free game” will entertain the little ones with readings in Piazzetta Garraffo. At 5.30 pm there will be a participatory painting and set-up workshop for Piazzetta Garraffo by the “Vucciria Committee”, the Tu Sei La Città association and with the participation of Orto Capovolto.
At 18.00 a round table will be held at the sacristy of the Church of San Domenico (entrance from via Bambinai 18), organized by “Salvare Palermo” on the prospects for economic and environmental revival of the neighborhood, in the presence of associations and institutions and the scientific director of the European project I-Access on accessibility of historic centers.
At 7.30 pm from Piazza San Domenico a musical parade will start, with the musicians “Angelo Daddeli and the Picciotti” who will continue on Via Maccheronai to stop in Piazza Caracciolo, where they will change the percussion of “Doudou Group”. At 9.00 pm the event will end with the musical group Angelo Daddelli.
During the day, moreover, the artistic installations of Lusiana Libidov in Piazza Garraffello, by Paolo Caravello, will be set up, entitled “a poem for Vucciria”, along the market, while some street artists will try to imagine the future of the market on some gates of the Via Argenteria. For the occasion, the installation by Federico Urso entitled “People of Vucciria-Emmaus”, currently on display at the Church of San Domenico, will be repositioned along the market.
